Here’s a great, FREE opportunity for parents in your District. Dr. Dawson is hosting a special training on Thursday, September 7 from 6:00-7:30 pm. Executive skills or executive functions are critical to the acquisition of academic skills. They are the skills students need to get things done. These brain-based skills such as task initiation, sustained attention, working memory, planning, organization, and goal-directed persistence are critical to school success. Dr. Dawson will describe how these skill develop throughout childhood and suggest strategies parents can use to help children acquire the important skills they need to be successful.
